About Us
Origo Tea believes in the essence of pure, healthy, and fresh tea lies in embracing its origin. Our journey begins in the lush green tea gardens of Assam and the enchanting landscapes of Tripura, where we cultivate and pluck the choicest tea leaves with utmost love and care. In the heart of Assam, nestled amidst the Behali Wildlife Sanctuary and the Kaziranga National Park, lies our serene Tea Estate, a place where the art of cultivating is passed down through generations. Our legacy traces back to the 19th century when the British undertook commercial tea plantations in the Brahmaputra Valley, seeking an alternative to Chinese Black Tea. But even before colonialization, the Singpho tribe of Assam brewed the leaves of the indigenous Camellia sinensis assamica variety, preserving the ancient wisdom and tradition of tea.

On the enchanting lands of Tripura, our journey takes us to the Harendranagar Tea Estate, the youngest and most beautiful tea plantation, in this virgin land rich in heritage and culture. Here, amidst the breathtaking scenery, we find a 150-year-old Kali temple, a symbol of the timeless bond between nature and spirituality. At Harendranagar, we have embraced innovation and sustainability by constructing an eco-friendly factory made of bamboo, a testament to our commitment to the environment and its preservation.
Our dedication to preserving the essence of tea is mirrored in every cup you brew. From Assam's picturesque tea gardens and Tripura's unspoiled beauty, our tea leaves are nurtured, plucked, and manufactured using state-of-the-art technology, ensuring that each cup tells a tale of authenticity and flavour. Today, the same tradition continues as we carefully handpick the finest tea leaves, imbibing the Way of Life of the Chai Bagaan at each stage of processing, to bring you an unparalleled tea experience that captures the true spirit of Assam.
